Job Title: General Assistant
Location: Kilmarnock (Town Centre)
Hours: 12 hours/week
Pay: Scottish Real Living Wage
Days: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
East Ayrshire Churches Homelessness Action (EACH) is looking for a caring, reliable General Assistant to join our welcoming Community Friends Drop-In team.
We provide warm meals, friendship, and vital support to people facing homelessness, addiction, poor health, and poverty. This role is perfect for someone who wants to make a real difference in people’s lives in a respectful and supportive environment.
About the Role
You’ll be part of a small, hands-on team responsible for:
- Setting up and clearing the kitchen and hall
- Assisting with cooking, serving, and cleaning
- Welcoming guests and creating a friendly atmosphere
- Keeping all areas clean and well-stocked
- Helping with basic admin as needed
Working Hours
- Monday: 9am-1pm
- Wednesday: 11am-3pm
- Friday: 9am-1pm
Requirements
- A kind, respectful attitude towards everyone
- Good teamworking and communication skills
- Willingness to undertake training (we’ll support you to gain a Food Hygiene Certificate)
- Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is required (we can help with this)
Where We Work
Currently at New Laigh Kirk Hall, 35 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock, but soon moving into our new premises nearby.
